On July 10, the weather should open up and the expedition led by Mathieu Maynadier (guide briansonnese) Jérémy Rumeb, Guillaume Vallot and the American alpinist Colin Haley, who this year seems to have preferred the Pakistani paragonico summer to winter, try to climb Gasherbrum II.
For groped the summit, the team decided to shorten the phase of acclimatization to take advantage of a lapse of good weather. Then they will leave the base camp at 5900 meters Monday, July 10 after having already spent two nights at 6500 meters in the advanced fields.
The four will travel the regular route to G2, then attempt to ski down. "This expedition is a bit 'different from the others since it is a less technical objective, but for us it will be the first attempt on a 8.000" said expedition leader Mathieu Maynadier. "The aim is to gain experience at high altitude in order to preararsi and groped a technical line on a 8,000 next year."

Day three found me still noxious from the hike in and dehydration but got my butt up and climbed 1,500 feet to Sphinx Col (a pass in the high country to get from water drainage to another) only to call it quits at 12,050 feet just of the other side. Told the rest to go on and I'd head back to camp.
I was back laying down after a 45 minute break at the col to take in the Mount Brewer, N. Guard and S. Guard west bowl/water drainage which was breathtaking. CalicoCat, Tina & Deb continues around the low angle buttress a quarter mile to the east before turn northeast to gain the 1,890 feet up North Guards west ridge.
