Had a great time yesterday climbing the mega-classic Gervasutti Pillar on Mont Blanc du Tacul with @fabi_buhl. Fresh snow from the recent storm made the climbing often a bit trickier and more time-consuming than I imagine it to be in mid summer, but also made the chossy sections much nicer than I imagine them to be in mid summer. The route had a lot of really nice rock, and definitely exceeded my expectations of quality. We got to the summit at 16:30, raced down the North Face, and arrived at the Cosmiques Refuge at 17:10, but alas we were a bit too slow to catch the last téléphérique ride down to town. Having to spend a second, expensive, nearly-sleepless night in a stuffy room with twenty snoring, wheezing people was the only bummer of the outing... Good motivation to either learn to paraglide or dial in the free-solo downclimb of the Mallory Route in any conditions!
