[Unclimbed] The northwest ridge of 6,083-meter Kangchung Shar in Nepal (the arĂȘte facing the camera) has been climbed several times, starting in 1984. But the very steep, 1,000-meter face to the left has no known ascents. Britons Paul Schweizer and Simon Yates approached Kangchung Shar in October 2016, hoping to find the continuous ice lines that Yates had photographed earlier. But an unusually dry post-monsoon season had left the face "exceedingly lean," and the Brits moved on to another climb. Photo of the upper wall by Paul Schweizer.
