Man Dies From Fall in the Baldy Bowl + Skyline rescue

Here is the report from the PSPD Facebook page: "On Monday, March 18, 2013, at approximately 4:25 PM, PSPD received a report of a lost and dehydrated hiker at approximately 2400' elevation, south of the Museum Trail. The 24 year old male reported that he had began hiking at 3:30 AM and became lost after leaving the Museum Trail. The hiker eventually ran out of water and became lost. The hiker called 911 via his cellphone and requested assistance. The Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue Team, the Palm Springs Fire Department, and the Palm Springs Police Department responded to a nearby location on the ground and coordinated the rescue efforts. A CHP helicopter airlifted members from the Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue Team to the lost hiker and he was airlifted from the location.
