I've encountered this hiker on Baldy's Ski Hut Trail a few times. Such a great personality. He once climbed to the summit 100 days in a row: 4,000 feet of gain each time. For 2017, he was shooting to make his 1,000th summit of the 10,064' peak. Not bad for a 78-year old. He's been missing since Friday and so I fear the worst.
