You guessed it: Another Skyline! My 48th--Yahoo! Fantastic weather conditions as well. I went with Dennis Newton and Juan--wearing the blue shirt (1st timer--I call them 'virgins'). In the beginning and at the picnic tables, I was please to see Ellen ColemanMarilyn TomshaCameron Robbins and Kalen Maroney. They went ahead of us--up, up and away they go. After completing the 8-hour trek, Juan agreed that it certainly is an extremely tough hike. We were glad to have him with us. If you need an experienced plumber, Juan is the man! Around the 5000K area, we met a congenial group, on their way to the Tram. 2 of them were virgins as well. I've not met that many 1st timers. Remarkable. Also, It was nice to see snow again--from the Traverse to Grubbs Notch. However, the snow levels were very low on the trail and spikes were not needed (actually, I should have strapped them on as a precautionary measure). My Garmin GPS produced the data: https://connect.garmin.com/modern/activity/2537189479 -- I may do another Skyline this week! #50 is around the corner! Utterly amazing when I think of it: I never hiked a day in my life 5 years ago (I'm from S. Florida and was there for 42 years). Life goes on...
