Update from Rob Wymer's Ojos del Salado team
"The team is just back at camp at the lovely Laguna Verde, having summited Nevado San Francisco 6018m. This mountain on the Chilean/Argentine border packs a punch, with a lot of height gain in not a lot of distance! So far now then, we've climbed mountains to over 4, 5, and 6000m, plus had an amazing experience generally in the high Atacama desert. This country is just staggering; I've seen a few mountainous areas around the world in my time, but nothing like this! We've all agreed that if we went the highest volcano in the world, and tomorrow we move camp to Atacama (Base) Camp at 5200m. We'll spend a couple of days there further acclimatising home tomorrow, we'd be extremely happy with what we've achieved and experienced. However, eyes are now on the prize of Ojos del Salado, before attempting the summit on either Saturday or Sunday. Wish us luck! "
