Announcing a new Meetup for SoCal Hikers and Peakbaggers!
What: TECBO-- a shameless copycat....
When: Saturday, July 30, 2011 7:00 AM
Where: Icehouse Canyon Trailhead
Mount Baldy Road
Mount Baldy, CA 91759
read Pauls far more eloquent description from 7/24--seems diabolical enough for me to try...
the basics:
mileage:21 ish
elevation gain: 8k ish
this is an AN ADVANCED HIKE...i am not your mommy, your camp counselor or at all responsible for your happiness on this hike or in life in general. I am merely someone who likes to hike with cool people...
bring the usual stuff and LOTS OF WATER (like 5ltrs) cause the chance to refill is like 2mile from trailhead...(ie useless...)
Check it out!

Who's going: 8 Outdoor Adventurers
We'll catch the 10am tram and hike from Long Valley to the San Jacinto Peak. Please arrive early if you need to purchase a tram ticket. This is a moderate hike, but can be strenuous because of the elevation. The peak is at 10,800 feet. The mileage is about 11 miles round trip with a gain of about 2,500 feet. We'll take the summer route from the tram station to Round Valley and then to Welman's Divide and then on to the peak. The views are breathtaking! Weather conditions to be announced. Bring at least three liters of water and enough food or bars to keep you going for approximately 6 hours. Wear hiking boots or hiking shoes. It's advisable not to wear cotton. Tram tickets cost about $23.00. Learn more
