WOOHOO!! On 8/3-8/10/17 (8 days total), Toshi, Sean, and I completed the first ascent of Convoluted Bliss, the longest alpine traverse climbed to date in the United States. This massive 51-peak traverse is a grand ridge tour of three Sierra subranges: most of the Cathedral Range and the entirety of the Isberg Divide and Clark Range. For the first 4 days we were bombarded with thunderstorms containing hail and heavy rain, causing us to bolt off the ridge at odd parts of the day for shelter. Eventually the weather got better and we enjoyed several full days of scrambling and climbing. After years of tries and failures the dream of completing this traverse has finally come true. I couldn't have done it without and couldn't have asked to be part of a better team!
