Max Didier And Cristobal SeƱoret (CL) climbed a new track in the southwest face of the pyramid of Cerro Paine Grande. This new route to the left of existing ones, to reach the west edge following the summit. In the 300 metres of overpass they encountered difficulties up to 90 ˚ and wi4. this was the fifth ascent of this beautiful mountain, with its CA. 2,884 meters is the highest in the Torres Del Paine massif

Over the past several years, two climbers from Georgia (the country, that is) have been lighting up the pages of the AAJ with impressive ascents, mostly in their home range, the southern Caucasus, but recently in Nepal as well. Archil Badriashvili and Giorgi Tepnadze will have two big climbs in AAJ 2018: the first ascent of Larkya Main in Nepal, last fall, and the first winter ascent of the south face of Shkhara, the highest peak in Georgia, in February 2018. The latter was the kind of sufferfest we’ve come to expect from these two, involving nearly two weeks and 2,500 meters of climbing in harsh winter conditions.
