Well above normal temperatures will occur throughout the central California interior this week. Rapidly melting snow over the higher elevations of the Sierra will cause an increase in water levels and flows along many rivers and streams as a result. Water temperatures will be in the mid to upper 40s. Exposure to water this cold can quickly lead to hypothermic shock with life-threatening conditions. In addition, the cold swift current of a river will carry even an experienced swimmer quickly downstream and into dangerously deeper water. Don’t be the next victim of a water rescue!
