On my latest quest, I was able to recruit James to tackle Mt. Gardiner in a day from Roads End. 28 miles and 8,500'. He is a trooper and agreed.

The day was enjoyable sans the climb from the Bubbs Creek trail to Charlotte Dome, that section is steep, lose and brushy. Wasn't fun coming down either.
