Tunnabora Peak, 13,565' from the east (Hogback Creek). Not a view many have had, nor cared to have. Hogback creek is the next major drainage north of Whitney portal. The end of Hogback creek road puts you in a small drainage that is south of Hogback creek. The proper route is to find a small ridge between this drainage and Hogback creek and head up the ridge. Stay on this ridge, then pick your way thru a shelf of variable width to around 9350'. Then head up the south side of Hogback creek drainage eventually ending up near the north wall of the drainage where Hogback creek comes down the rock slab. Over Tunnabora Peak and 700 feet below is Tulainyo Lake. This is a physically challenging route with a variety of steep terrain including large boulder fields and bushwhacking.
